Quebrada de las Conchas: by car or by bike?

You see the canyon from Route 68, free and with no entry fee. The difference is how you experience it.

By car: fast, viewpoint to viewpoint

Route 68 links Cafayate with Salta and runs through the canyon. By car you cover it quickly and stop at the best-known formations: Garganta del Diablo, the Amphitheatre, El Fraile, El Sapo and Los Castillos.

The downside: you see it through the window, and the driver is watching the road.

By bike: the landscape all around you

On the guided ride you cover 20 km of Route 68 in about 3 hours, with transfers, stopping at every formation. The colours, the silence and the scale of the hills feel different from the saddle.

It comes with guide, transfers and support. On an E-bike, the climbs feel easy.

On my own by bike?

The road has traffic all year round. That's why for the canyon we recommend the guided ride, with a support vehicle behind the group. If you'd rather ride alone, rent an MTB and pick the routes around town.
