Cafayate wineries: which to visit and how to get there

Some are a block from the plaza, others among vineyards a few kilometres out. A bike is the nicest way to link them.

Degustación en bodega

In town, at an easy pace

Nanni is a block from the plaza. Vasija Secreta, at the entrance to town, is the oldest winery in the area. El Esteco sits where Route 40 meets Route 68, about 2 km from the centre.

With a rented bike you can visit them at your own pace. We bring it to your hotel with helmet, lock and water.

Up to Yacochuya, among vineyards

Along Provincial Route 2 you'll find Piattelli (km 2) and San Pedro de Yacochuya (km 6, about 8 km from town). It's uphill, so the easiest way is the Yacochuya Bike Wine Tour: you start at the top, at San Pedro de Yacochuya at 2,000 m, and ride down between the wineries, transfers included.

Yacochuya takes visitors by appointment only: on the guided ride we handle that for you.

What to taste: torrontés

Torrontés is Cafayate's signature grape, an aromatic white. Ask for it at every winery and compare.

If you're going to drink, choose the guided ride: the support vehicle comes with you.
